The problem
Every company has the answer written down somewhere — in a runbook, a thread, a doc nobody has opened since the person who wrote it left. Search finds documents; it does not answer questions. And a question-answering layer that cannot show its source is worse than useless in a business context, because a confident wrong answer about a refund policy costs real money.
What we built
TeamKnows turns scattered company knowledge into something a whole team can ask, with answers that cite the document they came from. The hero on the marketing site is not a stock illustration — it is the product’s actual output: a question, an answer, and the numbered source underneath it. That is the entire pitch, so we led with it.
Retrieval is PostgreSQL with pgvector rather than a hosted vector service, which keeps a customer’s knowledge inside their own tenant and inside infrastructure we control.
How we shipped it
This one is ours end to end — product design, multi-tenant architecture, the marketing site, billing and the boxes it runs on. It is also our reference implementation: the architecture docs we hand to technical clients describe this codebase, because it is the one we can open.
Outcome
A working multi-tenant product with a free-trial path, live on our own infrastructure. Built the way we tell clients to build: owned code, owned data, no platform rent, and no answer the user cannot trace back to its source.
